Massage Therapy Core Program Overview
Accreditation
Since 1992, Myotherapy Massage College has been accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC). MMC is state-approved and meets Utah’s licensing requirements (as well as for most other states).
Length Of Program
Our Core Program includes 600 clock hours and is designed to prepare students to meet all state requirements, including passing the MBLEx licensing exam. Students develop a strong foundation in Swedish and Clinical Massage, and additional bodywork courses include Trigger Point Therapy, Sports Massage, Reflexology, and an introduction to Eastern modalities. Students are also required to complete classes in Anatomy & Physiology, Kinesiology, Pathology, and Professional Practice.
Students are also required to provide at least 100 hours of massage therapy to members of the public in the school’s Student Clinic which enables students to work in a professional setting with private treatment rooms.
Experienced Instructors
MMC’s instructors are practicing Licensed Massage Therapists and bodyworkers with a passion for teaching. Our teachers average more than 15 years of both teaching and professional experience as massage therapists.
Small Class Size and Personal Attention
MMC’s teachers are able to provide personalized instruction and guidance as class sizes for bodywork classes do not exceed 16 students. Classes with 12 to 16 students have an additional LMT working with the instructor as a Teaching Assistant to maintain lower student/teacher ratios
Flexibility In Scheduling
o MMC’s Core Program offers both morning and evening classes Monday through Friday. Morning classes are held 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and evening classes 5:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Generally students attend either morning or evening, but students may include both day and evening classes in their schedule. Also, students may opt to take some afternoon classes with students in the Accelerated Program.
After Graduation
Upon graduation, you will be qualified to sit for Massage and Bodywork Licensing Exam (MBLEX) provided by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB) to obtain licensure.
